About us
Elevate Marketing is the union of two brand marketers with a passion for the impact that marketing strategy and communications can have in the non-profit space. Our paths crossed as volunteer marketers for a local non-profit organization, where we became a collaborative and effective team. We are inspired by mission driven organizations and love the challenge of creating marketing perfectly suited to each client’s needs.
Our “secret sauce” is our partnership. We challenge each other’s thinking, build upon each other’s ideas, and encourage the other to be bold. And, we laugh a lot.
As a strategic marketing consulting firm focused on the non-profit space, we strive to thoroughly understand each clients’ operating model, mission & vision, landscape, strengths, and unique challenges in order to create transformative marketing strategies and outcomes that meaningfully connect with all stakeholders. Importantly, we are deeply invested and take personal pride in each and every deliverable.
We Believe
In Going Above & Beyond
And above and beyond again. We always strive for excellence and to delight our clients.
Community Matters
We invest in developing generous and long term relationships with all our various communities, including yours.
Emotional Connection is Powerful
We work to amplify what truly drives a nonprofit’s mission. Emotional connections are the best connections.
Laughing Produces Better Results
Our non-profit clients inspire us to work hard AND have fun.

Brands are fascinating. What makes a brand resonate with consumers and why? What makes a consumer choose one brand over another? How do brands break through the clutter in our information saturated world and become part of our culture?
Katie co-founded Elevate Marketing to bring the fundamentals of consumer marketing to the nonprofit space. Nonprofits compete for mind-share and donor-engagement in a crowded field. Standing out is critical so that your mission can be fully realized.
Prior to Elevate, Katie spent ten years in brand management and business development at the Clorox Company. She began her career at global PR firm Shandwick and worked as a publicist for U.S. News & World Report and Fast Company magazines. Katie received her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and her B.A. from Duke University. She is mom to two busy teenagers, both of whom are proudly dyslexic. She is a long-time school and community volunteer, including board service at the Charles Armstrong School, the Burlingame Community for Education Foundation, and the Young Men’s Service League, and leadership roles at Lincoln Elementary, National Charity League, Girl Scouts, and AYSO.

Animal-lover. Seasoned dog walker. Vegetarian (wanna be) chef. Tendency to extensively research everything. Podcast obsessed.
Good branding is powerful. And critical for nonprofit organizations. Memorable, effective brand development tells a busy world what important work they are doing, why you should care, and motivates action.
Laura co-founded Elevate Marketing to help small to medium Bay Area nonprofits break through the communications clutter and bring their amazing missions to life. A perfect work day? Balancing creative and analytical problem solving, implementing thoughtful and practical marketing solutions, helping clients do good in the world, and, of course, collaborating (and laughing) with co-founder Katie.
Before Elevate, Laura spent over a decade in corporate, brand and entrepreneurial marketing at Shutterfly Inc., Nabisco, Inc., and two technology startups. Laura earned her MBA at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and her B.A. from University of California at Berkeley. In addition to being a mom of two young adults making their way in the world, Laura has also held volunteer leadership, marketing, and operational roles in community nonprofit organizations, including the Burlingame Community for Education Foundation, elementary through high school parent leadership roles and coaching youth and high school girls basketball. In her empty nest free time, she has also completed an executive program in Digital Media for Social Impact from the University of Pennsylvania.
